I have a 55 fresh water tank that's filled with about 50 lbs of play ground sand, It's ben this way for almost a year, could I use some of this sand in my saltwater tank to populate my other sand that I bought ( non Live), If so how much should I put in, The salt tank is a standard 75 gal.

The bacteria that live in your sandbed in a FW tank are different than SW. You would need to head to your LFS and get a cup of their sand from an established tank. Also, sand that is used in FW is different than SW. Most sand is made of silicates, which can feed algae growth. Look for argonite sand.

Yep i would definately stay clear of play sand as its usually made of silicate. Silicate is a superb diet for algea blooms, diatoms and cyanobacteria

Silicate sand also give no buffer to the water so you may find you will have PH problems.

Aragonite sand is far better.
