how can you tell if your live rock has seeded into your sand. i have used regular aquarium sand and i have had the live rock for two weeks and everything ins normal water and algea growth wise. thanx

I really dont' think you can and it is probably moot once you get your tank up and running. The key is ..if your tank starts to cycle and your params drop to zero, then you can assume that the biological filter is up and running and your substrate is probably seeded or seeding. SH

fwiw it's unlikely your sand has been seeded (and by that I'm assuming you mean sufficient biodiversity in any sample of sand) in 2 weeks.

..seeded with bacteria...I think it is..it may not be maxed out, but, I'm sure there are bacteria in there by now. If you mean seeded with copepods, etc....that takes time. SH
