over the last week or so ive been looking at my rio 125 and have decided to have a go at marines but is not gonna be set up till prob end of November early December.
i have found some1 locally just down the road that is currently breaking down his tank and has got live rock for sale at 5quid a kg.

is there anyway of keeping it alive at all untill i get my tank all sorted or is it best to leave it and see if i can find some when the ime comes to setting the tank up

Hi mate welcome to the salty side

I would take the live rock now and get your self a lg container and buy a heater and a few powerheads that will keep it live and put a light on it also and it will be fine till then mate

Alls ya got to do is stick it in a container with a pump circultin water around and a small light for it n it'll be fine. You will quite regularly find rock at £6 per kilo out of someones tank and thats the best way to get it really because it will allready be fully cured. Just bang it in get it all running and leave it maybe a week to settle and your away off to get your first bits n bobs, CUC etc.

Agree with the two post above except the light part, live rock can safely be kept without light

Aye it can be kept w/out light. Then coraline and other good things will die though. It's really up to you. Don't forget to top it off w/fresh water everyday as the water evaporates. :)
