How much do you normally pay for regular live rock per pound? A local pet store is closing and they are selling it for $4 (US). 11 pounds was $50. That was only 3 medium size rocks.

Wow do i envy you guys. Around here its normally $8 - $8.50 a pound, with rubble rock being about $3.

Yeah, we get the shaft up here in NY. Wish I lived in a state with live rock farms

$3.50 a pound for up to 50 lbs. 3.00 a pound for 50-100. 2.50 for 100 + pounds.
NCK, which LFS' do you frequent? I'm itching to set up a salt tank and I think I might go for it during the summer months and I would like to know where you found the cheap LR! Thanks.

Is that somewhere local or online Dorkhedeos?

Oh nevermind, you're in the US for some reason I thought I saw a £...

In the UK £7.50 - £10.00 per kilo

£10 = $19.70 US = $21.81 Aus

I don't think anyone in Australia / USA has much call to complain about prices :p

Yep in the UK £10 per KG is pretty much the norm (never seen any cheaper without being in bulk).

That works out to about $9(us) per pound, reef keeping in the UK is really expensive :(

lol yeah I was talking to (boring) one of my friends about it the other day and I couldn't quiet get her to believe that I paid £100 for "them few lumps of rock!!".

The other funny thing is that i worked out I have spent more on my fish tanks in the last 12 months then I have on food for myself :)
