Hi Guys

Possible emergency, was hoping my first post wouldnt be in such circumstances but it is, hope someone can help.

Just got a new setup, all seems fine except the temps running at 28ish. I got some live rock from LFS and noticed its turning yellow. I would get some pics but cant seem to get camera working.

Anyone have experience of this?

Any tips.

Thanks in advance.

What is your waters chemistry? NO3 on the high side?

From the reading that I have done. Not from exprience! If your tank has not been running long and your biofilter is not established this coupld be part of the problem. Once the natural cycle gets established the good bacteria (nitrifiers) will convert NO3 to nitrogen gas and the level will go down slowly as well as the diatom algae. Do a water change, 20% at least to help lower the ammonia, NO2 and NO3 in the water. And then 10% water changes weekly.

Dont worry about it mate, I got the same on most of my LR when I started my tank up! I believe it's a combination of diatoms and die-off from your LR that is causing it to be yellow. Once your tank's params are 0 and you introduce your CUC then they will take care of this problem for you as mine did! ;)

Its not an emergency so dont stress! :)
