it's certainly a good food source for a lot of fish - particularly those that wont take frozen.
but are likely to get wiped out fairly quickly unless there are an awful lot of them - you could try breeding them in a separate tank of course.
shouldn't be used as the only food.

in my experience the vast majority of fish will eat frozen food, and it is much less hassle than live.
if you want to keep something that only eats live food, then of course you will have to provide suitable food, but I would advise most casual fishkeepers to stay away from these fish in the first place, and stick to something more suited to captivity.
