Hiya
I recently got 3 dwarf puffers and have been having a wee bit of bother getting them to take "non live" food.
They will take some stuff but I'm afraid that they will go hungry, there are some snails in the tank, but I have no idea if they have eaten any.
I found a place on the internet where I ordered some bloodworm, brine shrimp and daphnia.
They had some daphnia earlier and loved it, so that's cool, but my question is, how do I keep the other food alive and how long will it keep?
They are packed in sealed bags, and have come in a box with a cool pack, so I'm guessing they will be OK in the fridge?
One bagful will be too much for the 3 at a time,so does anyone know if there is a way I can keep them alive in a container or something?
I don't want to waste what I've bought but have no idea what to do with it to be honest... :S
Any help would be much appreciated.
:)

Daphnia will be the easiest to keep alive longterm, all they need is a supply of water- like a large jug, small tank etc and a food source, I have fed mine on drops of milk or liquifry. Bloodworms have the unfortunate tendency to hatch- into mosquitoes. Won't make you popular with the family. And brine shrimp need saltwater.

Cheers for that.
I asked at my LFS and the guy showed me an empty pond he had round the back full of leaves and stagnant water which was heaving with all 3 of the above.
He did mention about the bloodworms/mossies though..they don't like my blood but you're right,my other half would be bitten to buggery and I would be single in about a week!!
I never made the assosciation between the 2 but I suppose the clue is in the name lol.
I have started a bucket in the back garden to try and replicate what he had but it will take ages to reach that state of mingingness so I will try what you said as they really loved the daphnia.
Can they really survive on milk??

p.s. in the short term, will the bloodworm and brine shrimp be ok at room temp,or do they need to go in the fridge?
