Hi all,

I was wondering if there is anything I can do to minimize the danger of introducing disease to the tank by adding live food to it.

At the moment, I pour the water containing the live food, that is artemia, brine shrimp, etc. into a small net and then release the content of the net into the tank. Often, I have to dip the net into the tank water to get all the live food out of the net.

Is there a better method?

MAke sure the live food is not coming from polluted water. Otherwise the introuction of a disease not already present is highly unlikely.

Agreed, the flash-freezing of packaged frozen foods typically eliminates all bacterial and parasite life that may be present.
