little whit worms all over my tank

i think i know what they are i think i have a build up of waste witch is very possible because i have oscars. but i wont to know it they are harmfull to the fish.

o i just read the guildlines i the tank is 30 gallons trust me i know its too small but there just babies i have a 55 galon i just have to set it up. o and have a very good knoelge of chiclets (speeled that wrong)

As far as the small white worms go I can't remember what they are called possibly planarians, they are harmless non-parasitic flat worms. Could have been introduced on plants or live food, but if they have reached large numbers then this is usually indicative of overfeeding or uneaten food, or a lack of routine maintenance.

Almost all fish will eat the little worms which are usually indicative of poor water quality and a build up of uneaten food/waste.

Most fish will eat the little critters however having oscars in your tank makes it kind of difficult to buy a couple of smaller fish say danios or platies which should eat them all in no time. If you've got another tank for the oscars perhaps you could put them in that and unleash a few fish to hoover up the worms in your old tank.

Finally the worms are completely harmless they just look a bit gross

Just want to address one other thing....

I noticed in your second post you made referrence to having oscars...meaning more than one!!!

Please be aware that even a 55 is to small for more than one adult oscar.

IMO oscars should not be housed in any tank that is not at least 18" wide (front to back). Even a 70 thru 110 gallon tank is only adequate for a pair of oscars.

Please remember, oscars can get up to 16" and a tank that is only 13" wide is really not good.

Please do yourself and more importantly, do your fish a favor and get a larger tank.
