Little Help In The Right Direction?

i got a 120lt tank and think of getting red belly piranhas. would i be able to put a plec in there if they are small enough and fed well. from what i understand is if there well fed they wont attack? i'm i right ? do i need any other equipment other than the standard set up?

I think 120 litres is too small for a RBP, even for one I think. I wouldn't have any other fish with piranha just because its not worth the risk.

If you like piranha then look at exodons, they are like a smaller version but with the same schooling, mob mentalilty.

a 120L tank isn't too small for a single Piranah, you'd have to get something like a black Piranah though, aswell I wouldn't recommend the pleco. After a while the Piranah tend to flip over the pleco and feast on it's belly...

In regards to equipment, make sure you have an air pump as Piranahs usually die from lack of oxygen, aswell, HEAVY filtration, as in double or triple or even more filtration than needed for the tank.

at one of the lFS they have a piranha tank with a red tailed cat in with them and they said the cat is the meanest fish in the tank

that's a good point but i think i would have to keep one of those in the bath, even then i think it will be bit of a sqeeze. lol
