hi
i know i've seen a link to a converter for this purpose, but i can't find it now. so does anyone know a site to convert litres or gallons into kilograms, just so we can find out whether our floor can take the weight of the new tank we are looking at buying!!
thanks
kat

One litre of water weighs one killogram :) But don't forget to take into account gravel etc and decorations too.

1 liter of water = 1kg

It is so by definition.

Gallons - well depends...

1 US Gallon = 3.7854118 liters

1 Imperial Gallon = 4.54609188 liters

On the net, most people who say "gallons" mean US gallons. Everyone else uses liters.
