About two months ago, my guppy gave birth and due to some rather poor advice I fed the fry a combination of fish-flake and daphnia. Net result = all fried died.

So, I was advised to purchase Liquifry number 2.

Today my guppy then gave birth to about 15 fry and I wanted to feed them and I became somewhat unsure of what to do. The fry are kept in a net inside a 12 gallon tank. The instructions says to add one drop of Liquifry for ever gallon of water 2-4 times per day. This surprises me somewhat as the bottle is only 25 ml and this can surely not last very long then?

Is it necessary to use that much when its going inside the net, as opposed to it going into the "main" aquairum?

I've never used liquifry
I used to use a powdered fry food for the first week or so, then just crushed up normal flakes.
Now I don't separate the fry at all & they do fine in the main tank with no special food

Liquifry does not last long, although a single drop is plenty for a feeding in that net. Don't forget to shake the tube before you feed that drop, the solids in the tube will settle out over time. A decent quality flake food can also be used to feed fry with great success. I breed all of my livebearers in colony situations so the fry get whatever I am feeding the adults at the time. They do just great. A fast way to lose all of your fry is to allow their water to become contaminated. Clean that net frequently and keep up the water changes on the tank itself. Liquifry will quickly ruin water quality if you don't do frequent cleaning.
Daphnia is a food for fish much the way that candy is food for children. They love the stuff but it should only be fed sparingly, not as a main diet.

I love being new to anything - every piece of advice you get is different and you have to try and chose the right one
