Link To The Fish Species Index From The Beginners Section

tend to get a lot of people in the beginner section asking about particular fish. would it be worthwhile to just put in a pinned topic saying something like 'want to know more about a specific fish, click here' then having a topic with links to the different sections of the fish index and (if you can) a link to the search function already set to just be searching the fish index's so people can look things up if they don't know their cichlids from their catfish

You don't notice the pinned topics as they don't stand out, they could do with being in a different colour.

No.. i think its just laziness....!!!! if you go into the tropical chit chat, you have to scroll down them all to to get to the other messages. The main reason i miss them sometimes is that i tend not to go into the different forums, but work in the "view last posts" screen jumping straight to the message im interested in, and so bypass the forum thread listings.

I always notice pinned topics. They're usually the first thing I read when going to a new message board. Then again, I've been online for over 10 years and know what to look for. A different color or some way to really make them stand out for the newbies on the board or internet in general might be a good idea. Even the veterans sometimes overlook them.
