I went past this today. Has anyone ever been there and is it any good for oddballs.

any recomendations for decent shops in north west

Hi,

I have been in there quite a few times  .

The only oddball I came across was the owner!! :p

Seriously though, am not sure about the oddballs. it has a half-decent marine section, small-mid selection of cichlids and then your usual "run of the mill" fish.

I have been to Wyevale Garden Centre up in Winsford a few times. They have had a few oddballs in the past, including various puffers. You might want to give them a try.

There is also a place on the Wirral (can't recall the name though sorry :/ ) that has a small selection of oddballs. I know he has a largish puffer (i think maybe a Fahaka) 'cos I fell in love with it when I saw it.

Apart from that I can't really help you any more. Most of the LFS's around the area tend to concentrate only on the more common fish and don't bother with oddballs.

If you do you find anywhere let me know 'cos I wouldn't mid a visit myself.

Cheers for that.

I just remember going there about 15 years ago as a kid. I was going by Tarvin yesterday and thought I would try and find it. I wont bother then cos its about 25 miles from me.

I'll check the Winsford one out though.

I'm not sure which one on the Wirral that was. Andy's Aquatics in New Ferry is the biggest and best but I don't remember seeing a large puffer there. Theres one in Meols which I got my Royal Knives from that had a large Mbu puffer and that can get most fishes in and does have the odd-oddball however they only have a few tanks

I see many shops advertised on internet etc that look great but theres never any local!!!! If I find any new ones I'll let you know
