I read somewhere that lilly pads or leaves on the top of a tank can discourage silver sharks to try to jump out. I'll be getting silver sharks, and also a cover of course, but still I want to minimize a bang on the head. So, is it safe to put any leave? or a specific type of leaf? or a plastic leaf?

A lilly pad would require a pot with dirt in it, so the plant can feed and grow properly, and that can be cumbersome. I had some on a pond, but that's a different game. I tried floating plants once, but the roots fell off after a while, surely due to the light coming in through the sides of the tank, and not only from the top, as these plants are used to.

So, I suppose using a real leaf would not be very good. Just a plastic would probably be the best and the only?
