I have a juwel 240, and had it for just over the year.
One of the lights was replaced earlier this year and a few days ago I got flickering lights and ordered over the net a new tube.
This came today and hubby replaced the one that had blown. When switching on he got nothing, not even a flicker.
How do we test the new light to see if its the problem?
If its not that then where do we look next and how

Thanks :)

Cant see how to get to the starter.

How many tubes have you got in the hood? If one works, try the new tube in there.

Its one of those double tube things, if one doesnt work then another wont. Usually it will flicker but its not doing anything.
Hubby is going to take a closer look tomorrow.
I need someone who has the rio 240 to help, but thanks though for trying.

Any ideas on how to test if its a dud or not? we have a rapitest but no idea how to use it for fluorescent tubes

aye up...

the jewul light units use electronis balasts and are sealed units (they dont have starters).

If one tube fails, neither will light up. Swap them about a bit and see if the wrong one has been replaced.

If that fails... get another tube and put both the new ones in.
(ok, it'll be a bit of a bugger if you dont need it in the end - but you'll use it sooner or later)

If it still dosnt work - the unit needs replacing - at about £75 :(

I hope not. I only got it in June last year, will get another tube tomorrow and find out.

Thanks

Not a happy bunny... I bought another tube and its still not working, so thats £35 spent on lighting. Ive written to Juwel complaining about it so see what they say
