Lights On

Have you ever forgotten to turn off the lights? and they stay on all nite.

How bad is that for the fish?

Its not something ive ever done and if it was done all the time then the fish would get stressed.

Yeah the fish would be realy stressed, the tank would also probably heat up alot too, if it ever happens i'd advise you leave the tank lights off for a day or 2 to help lower the fish's stress levels.

I forget to turn off the fishroom lights around every other month. Life happens, sometimes I get tied up between work & family crap, the usual priorities conflict. The fish seem to do fine, never found a dead one the next day from too much light.

when i first got my tank and didn't know anything about fish (the whole thing wuz given to me by my gf who didn't want it anymore, including fish) i left the lights on all the time. i'd say they had the light on for almost a week straight before i inquired and found out that fish actually do sleep :\ since then i've been turning it off at night and when i go out, and all the fish are well and good...

so i don't think it's that much of a biggie
