I have a 10 gallon tank with 4 guppies in it. 1 of my males is really, really dark colored, almost black. Everytime I turn off the light in the tank, when I turn it back on, his color has faded, but after a while with the lights on, it comes back. Does anyone know what's causing it? It's not happening to any of my other guppies. :/

Why does exactly happen I am not sure but,I know is normal.Probably because before you turn on the lights they are resting and light is an indication to wake up and smell the coffee? :D ......Remember that color deepens and gets intensive with fish activities. While feeding or chasing females, the colors on a male guppy get more intense.I have even noticed in my albinos, they get a tint of pinkish on their regular pale bodies. Is it hormonal?donno......But in any case its perfectly normal, don't worry about it.

PS...Hows the weather in Aussie land?Summer yet?

yeah like neon tetras look really dull when u just turn on the light but they get their colour soon after
