Hi there

when i got my 180l juwel rio it had a marine white bulb and a blue bulb in there
i am running a freshwater tank
I now have the 36" 30w marine white and a 36" 30w T8 flora glo

my questions are
Is this lighting suitable for a planted tank?
are there any other tubes you can recommend ?
do i need to replace the marine white with a different one ?

Also have a Juwel rekord 60
i have the 15watt light in there is this ok for a planted shrimp tank or should i try to get the flora glo one ?
i wont have c02 cos i dont want the canisters in the house with the children
all help appreciated

Sarah xx

I have a Rio also.

I have just replaced my T8 bulbs to T6s. I have a spectrum grow on the back and daylight on the front.
It has made a huge difference :good:

When it comes to lighting for plants, you'll get more replies, and more opinions in the planted tank section.

Hi,

Dont buy tubes specifically for plants, they cost money for no reason, get some tubes that show of the plants & fishes natural colours, remember, as long as there is enough light, dont woryy about anything else (lighting wise)

try here:

Here is a site that shows you all the colours of the bulbs from the above:
