That and halogen's are HOT. My wife has one as a reading lamp - there's a grab bar to move it around. Learned the hard way there's a reason for it to be there; grabbed the shade and pulled. Then let go and taught the neighbors some new words - burnt my fingers.

No idea if it would heat the water, but pretty sure it'd melt a plastic hood.
