I have a Juwel triton 190. The light the tank came with gives the tank an unattractive yellowish tinge, almost like theres a load of bogwood soaking in there.
I know nothing about hardware :*( but I'd like to get something that will get rid of this yellow tinge and make the tank look brighter, though obviously I don't want to do anything that will hurt my fish or plants in any way.
What are my options? -_- Anyone have any ideas?

If there isn't any material (like wood or turf) that colours water to yellow, then it is in your lights. What kind of tube do you keep there?

Colour temperature lower than 5000K looks quite yellow, although many hobbiest use 4000K tubes (Philips 840 / 940). Daylight is between 4000-6500K, 6500K looks "white".

Colour temparature and "colours":

reddish-white-bluish
3000K-6500K-10000K

Personaly, I like aquariums that seems to look alittle yellowish ;)

A simple solution might be to get a 50/50 bulb, half being daylight spectrum and half being 03 actinic blue light spectrum. This gives tanks a whitish blue look that many people find very attractive. I highly recommend this option, looks awesome!
