I have a tank with 5 mollies which was setup 3 weeks ago. The tank is currently cycling and I carry out 33% water changes every second day. Water parameters are Ammonia 0.5ppm, Nitrite 1ppm, Nitrarte 10ppm and pH 7.4.

In the last few daysWhen the lights(2 fluorescents-came with tank, Juwel Vision 180L) are on some of the fish seem depressed/nervous or stressed and lie on the bottom in the corner or under a plant but when the lights are off they seem happy to swim around. Could it be that my lights are too bright?

What is the depth of your tank? Also, how much wattage light do you have?

Hi,

I was having the same problem. I have a 14W light on my 10gallon, I dont think its too powerful, but what I did was turn my light off during the day and had it on only in the early morning and later at night. That alone seemed to bring them out of the plants.
