HI there fairly new and seeking some advice.
Looking for the best lighting to help live plants and also show off colours of fish.
At the moment I am running Elite 95ltr tank , it came with a SUN-GLO T8 20W 60cm tube. I only had it in there for a few days without fish, thought it was a bit glary
Then put in Classica Arcadia "Ocean Moonlight" 18W , I did/do like this but have recently added a few live plants so wanting to give them a bit of a boost.
Out of curiosity I put the original light back in tonight , it shows of the colours of the fish but sems a bit yellowish and naff , not to soothing on the eyes either. :grr:
Was wondering if anyone could suggest or recommend a tube that would not only help show of the colours of the fish but help bring on the plants?
Also what wattage would be recommended for a 95ltr tank?
Any suggestions or advice greatly appreciated , thanks in advance :good:

A "marine white" bulb would seem to suit your needs :good:.

The Sun-glow is just a 4200K bulb, the blue one you had was...just blue. "K ratings" are the colour temperature, basically the higher the number the more blue it is. That's aside from your blue bulb, which wouldn't be given a K rating because, well, it's just blue.

For example daylight bulbs are usually around 6500K, "warm white" desk lamp bulbs are around 3000K(which is why they look so yellow).

The Sun-glow would look even more yellow because your used to the blue bulb.

Since they will fit perfectly, I would swap the Sun-glow for either a Aqua-glow or Power-glow, white are both 18000K. This is much bluer than most people have over thier tanks, but will be great for you since your used to the blue bulb, and they are great for plants anyway.
