I have a 54 litre tank with 1 t8 15watt bulb. I have a few plants in my tank but would like more and want to know if I have enough light?

Also, the hood that came with my tank only allows 1 bulb to be fitted. I would also like a different light which will bring out the colours in my fish more (maybe a night light?). Is there anything I can do?

Thanks in advance

Andrew

Your currently on about 1WPG, thats ok for slow plant growth but if you want a serious planted tank id increase it to around 2/3 :) to add more lights just buy the lighting unit and attach it to the hood yourself.

If your planning to add multiple T8's under a hood keep an eye on your temperature, as they can run pretty hot and most tight fitting hoods dont allow adequate ventilation. It may not be a problem just remember to keep tabs on it.
