One thing I was thinking of doing in a tank with a tank I need to build a hood for, was to incorporate three low voltage light bulbs 3 x 25 watt halogen (thru a transformer) as I have no live plants in either of my existing tanks and I am not likely to have any in this new tank.....would this type of lighting 3 x 25 watt halogens be any good or would they be bad for the fish....

I posted this in DIY but with replys....hope I have better luck here.....

If you don't have live plants then all you really need to do is make sure your fish get daylight in the day and dark at night. But the closer the light is to real daylight, the better that will be.
