Hi

I noticed tonight that when i turned off my light on the tank my penguin tetra of which i have 6, moved into a shoal of 5 were a lot more active then previously and positioned themselves in the middle and top waters of the tank which is where they are supposed to dwell or so im told?? Usually the take up individual positions in various areas of the tank .Is this different behaviour because the light was off or because the light wattage is too high? Or do i need to have the light off for a set period of time or longer period of time??

Hi again it seem I'm stalking you today mrchelsea. I personally find when the lights are out my fish are quiet and stick together and even the aggressive minnows behave themselves. I have noticed that my tetras and rummynoses stay behind the plants but when the lights are off they come out and hover in midwater.
