I used to keep fish years ago and have decided to start again (freshwater tropical). I've just ordered a pentagon shaped corner aquarium (about 170 litres) that is about 30" wide at the widest point and about 24" deep, so it's deeper but not as wide as most rectangular tanks of similar capacity. I am concerned that a couple of 24" fluorescent tubes won't provide enough light, and wondered if anyone has any other ideas. I've found references to "power compact lighting" units on a few US websites but I can't find these from any UK suppliers.

All suggestions welcome!

Hi rcw60 :)

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

There are a lot of very friendly fishkeepers here who will be happy to meet you.

I will move your thread to the Hardware section so that it will be seen by members who are more up on that kind of thing than most are. You are welcome to start another thread in the Newbie forum to introduce yourself if you would like. :D
