I have a power compact hood running the 2 55W 10 000k lights that came with it.
I find the aquarium too bright on the yellow side.
Now on my 15G, i have a 6700K Life glo and love the look.
My question is if i switch to 6700K on my 60G, will it harm the plants?

10,000 K is for marine tanks, unless your plants are thriving with it, from what I've heard 5000-6700 k is suitable for plants. But I'm not sure, I was just about to post a lighting question too!!! :D

The 6700k should look more yellow than the 10000k. the higher you go, the more "blue" the light will look some people now use 50000K on reef tanks. for plants, 6700k sounds fine.

ste :)

I agree, 10,000K produces to much high frequency light, above the range that Chlorophyll uses. A full spectrum 5500K - 6500K lamp will do much better.
