lighting question

what light will make my fish look there best as iv seen fish in pet shops and they look 200% better than mine do. at the moment im using a growlux bulb for my plants. any ideas

you could try positions your light so its right at the front of the tank, this way the fish's shadows are reflected back, not forwards...the lfs fish also look a bit better becuase it's dark

Mostly down to personal taste....

...and a toss up between satisfying your plants requirements (if you have real ones)

Reflectors are a good cheap way to get more light into your tank.
