My tank is a 75gallon, I have
260 Watt PC 50/50 10000K / Actinic
250X2 Watt 10000k Metal Halide with 2X110W VHO Actinic
for about 1000 watts, about 13 watts per gallon now.
how should I time this setup?
I'm worried about over-lighting
Thanks

WOW thats a lot of light. I'd run the VHOs for 10 hours, the PCs for 8 hours in between, and the halides for maybe only 4 hours in the middle of the cycle. Something like this

1500 - VHO on
1600 - PC on
1800 - Halide on
2200 - Halide off
2400 - PC off
0100 - VHO off

Thats the schedule I use since i'm usually still awake at 1am and like to see my fish, you can do whatever you choose at your leisure.

Thanks ill give it a try

also.. can this be 2 much light? anything i should stay away from?

Yeah, you run the risk of burning new arrivals under that much light. Any new corals should first be put on the sand near an edge and slowly brought towards where you want them to be situated in the aquarium. Also, that might be too much light for mushrooms and finger leathers. Most toadstool leathers love high light though

is it over kill? should i sell my PS's? any corals i can get that need that much light? that could be interesting.. having a rare coral

Its overkill for softies and easier LPS. That kind of lighting is more designed for SPS, Clams, Nems, and light-loving LPS like Micromussa, Blastomussa, Orange Pavona, Acanthestrea, Echinophylla and others. What do you have in your tank now?

I'd get rid of the PC bulbs. With this much light you also run the risk of needing a chiller on a tank that small.

two Nems and 0 corals..
about 30lbs or live rock.. once all my algae issues are over.. imma order 50lbs off the net
