Hi basically I am stuck between this:

http://www.pets-warehouse.com/Vpasp/shopexd.asp?id=153368

(I am buying something else as well, a little pico :D, so shipping isn't a price factor)

or this:

Interpet Twin (2x55w) T5 Power Compact Convertagear
1 £34.99 £34.99
Interpet 36w T5 Power Compact Convertagear
1 £18.99 £18.99
Interpet Triplus 55w T5 Power Compact Lamps 21ins.
2 £14.59 £29.18
Interpet Triplus 36w T5 Power Compact Lamps 16ins.
1 £12.99 £12.99

Order total: £96.15

the PC lamps are just for price, I haven't chosen them properly yet

also, what is a retrofit?

Thanks

Usually the word "retrofit" in aquarium lighting means its a light kit to upgrade old hoods. Included are bulbs, sockets, ballast, reflectors, and bulb clips with mounting hardware. Its up to the aquarist to remove his old tubes/ballast from the hood and install the new retrofit ones.

What kind of livestock do you want to keep in the tank?

tbh I would be going for mushrooms and soft corals, and zoos. Easy to care for stuff

Just realised I could just get 2 55 watt PC's with a double starter for around £50

If you're going for a softy/zoo tank, the 2x55 would be plenty of light :good:

I'm in a similar boat to you with lights at the mo, what are you doing about the 110/240V differance, are you planning on using an AC/AC converter?

where about in sheff are you from..?

dave.

about the converter, never thought about it so yeh probably :D

Sheffield- I'm on Grange Crescent. The biggest house :hey:

Ive got a double Compact T5 starter on my new tank which is 39". 2 x 55W Bulbs appear to be a good ammount of light, I have 2 quite blue bulbs and then a 18W White bulb to balance out the colour nicely.
