Hi,

In the past 2 years I've had 3 Juwel light units break on me (twice on rio 180 and once on vision 260 - making £200!). I've decided its time to get a light back on my rio 180 as I'm fed up of it being in the dark (though it does get some natural sunlight).

I would like to know my options though before I go out and buy another Juwel light unit if anyone uses another type of lighting on their juwel tanks (a more reliable one preferably). I'm not too bothered about the specs as I don't really grow plants I would just like the tank lit up and it not to cost the earth. So any suggestions on other lighting options would be appriciated (I'm not really experienced with lighting units as you can probably tell).

Thanks,
Shroob.

is the light units built into the hood ?
ive got 3 built into mine, its a pain because you cant turn them on sepratly with a timer
so what im going to do when mine go,is buy bog standerd one same wattage and cut the end caps off.pull all the guts out off the built in ones.but leave the caps inplace and then connect the new ones so i have got 3 seprate units :good: then i can have 3 timers on :hyper:
