hi All

I have a hood that has 4x 48" 36W tubes, I do not want to change the hood, does anyone know whether I can replace bulbs with a stronger wattage. I have looked around various sites and cannot find many that are 36W.

Can anyone advise whether it is possible to get stronger bulbs.

Thanks
Dave

not to use in your existing fittings I dont think. Is there not enough light in the tank? Have you tried reflectors?

No I have not tried reflectors not sure whether I can get one that would go over the 2 bulbs, the way the unit is set up I have 2 bulbs together and then middle then 2 more bulbs.

I have 2 reflectors in my smaller tank, this was ok to fit as I only have 1 bulb either side.

Are there any reflectors that are double and would fit over 2 bulbs side by side

Anyone know any further Info for me

Thanks
Dave

If you can't find them it wouldn't hard to make - It's only a thin sheet of aluminium with a couple of creases. A couple of holes for the screws/mounts and the jobs a good one!

Nice little job for the weekend - I expect to see a write up in the DIY section when you've finished!!
