Lighting on vacation?

i'd leave it off, but you could always get one of those timer things for your plugs, so that you set them to be on for a certain amount of time, then off for a certain amount of time, then on, then off, then on... you get the idea!! ;)

i think they're sold as 'holiday light timers', so that it looks like you are living in your house while you are away. mum bought one that was going cheap :D (and put the living room lamps on it. -_- it gets very annoying when you're reading and suddenly the light goes out  )

i would get a timer then for the lights, they should have them at your lfs (not sure if the kind rsz is talking about would work on the lights or not, maybe it would), and set it to turn them on for however long you normally turn them on for in a day.

i use them timers on my 3 tanks all the time coz my fish seem to like a routine.....and im not always in my house at the same time everyday

Well darn! I'm leaving tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m.
No timer here :(
I stuck as to what to do now.... I have fry in my "net nursery" and 3 live plants, will be using time released capsules to feed them. I'm just wondering since they don't have eyelids, if the light would hurt them?
