Lighting Help

I've never done a planted tank before, and I'm new to the hexagonal shape. I've read about lots of different kinds of light (Full spectrum etc) but I'm wondering what would be best for this tank that's just over 2 feet tall...
 

 
I don't have crazy amounts of money but I'm thinking between $100 and $300 could probably get me something doable. I want to have all colours of plants and hopefully LED? Looking to buy online so links would be great if that's the case. Thanks everyone.

What are those orange fish at the bottom?
Also what country do you live in as that could affect the websites that are available to you!

i would definably look into LED's but they will need to be strong enough for the depth of tank for a planted tank 3w LED will do, but depending on the size of them you may need 3 to 5 of them have a look around making them your self is cheaper but up to you i have LED's on my tank 30 LED's for a 330L tank 90w in total thats enough for a high light tank i also have 3 blue led's that look stunning at night

How do you make them yourself? I've got lots of time... I'm not electronically gifted though. If I made my own how do you suggest I get it to magnify to the bottom? Also can you explain how you'd make it full spectrum to accomidate red plants?

They're all mollies. I got them from a friend and bought 4 males. Don't think any species is the same though unfortunately haha and I live in Canada.
