Ok the wife just called to report the aquarium lights are not working (juwel lighting bar).

So I am going to the lfs to look at what lighting units I can get what do people recommend, the only down side is I live in a rented house so hanging stuff from the ceiling is a big no no.

I currently have a 2 t5 lighting bar so would like to upgrade to something that maybe holds 4 or a completely different light all together.

What about a t5 unit from All pond solutions

Does the tank have a lid? As I originally was going to buy x double ballasts from hagen like this http://www.netpetshop.co.uk/p-22145-hagen-glo-t5-ho-twin-light-electronic-light-starter-24w.aspx?CAWELAID=437271983 I have one on my planted tank and its a great unit.
Easily screwed onto wood and placed in the lid.

Thanks for the replys, I had decided to get rid of my tubes and go LED. Just ordered one double aquaray in white, then next month I will get the same in blue.

Fed up with replacing tubes every year costing me £120 and I dread to think the amount of electricity they use not to mention how much they heat my tank up.

The aquaray's are good for 15 years!!!!, 90% less heat released than tubes and use less electricity :)

They should be with me on tuesday, will post some pic when they arrive.

Anyone else here use them?

I think Seffie and Sorgan use them.
