the cables should be fine as long as they're shielded.

Is the copper wiring visible?

the cables should be fine as long as the cables are incased in rubber or plastic casing.

Just a quick thought.

As long as the Cables are Sheilded they should be O.K.
And they don't come into Direct Contact with any water.

But as for the Connections you can Either Smear a good amount of Aquarium Grade Silicone on them.
Or go get you some Shrink Tubing, at either your Local APS or Electric Supply House.
just Slip it over the Connections, Heat it so it Shrinks down tight with a hair dryer.

And Ipso Fatso {WATER TIGHT CONNECTIONS}

One thing though the Shrink tubing can be a little expensive though. :X

I beleive you mean the arcadia cables drooping into the water as they are at the front??

Is their not a space where the other tube sits that you could hook a couple of cable ties around to attach the front leads running to the back??
