Hello TFF community,
(post one, yay!)

I am running a Tanganyika tank for a few months now, and i recently thought it would be a good idea to buy a blue tube to intensify my front's colours.

I'm currently running:
Juwel vision 450 (i know, crappy light units)
from back to front: day, nature, day, nature bulbs.
One unit runs from 15h - 23h, the other one from 18h 'till 24h

Tank is stocked with regular "Rhine-sand" (riverbed) and Moonrocks (some anubias as well), living in it are Fronts (red and blue) and syno petricola's.

As i was saying, i now also have one JBL marine blue and a reflector.

Which bulb shall I replace, what should be an optimal sequence for the bulbs from back to front and how long should i run them?

thanks a lot,
Steven

Is it ok to bump a topic?
if so; bump :hyper:

Yeah thats fine :)

Daylight or natural lighting will look best i think, the blue bulbs do no justice for an African ciclid tank i think. :good:

I removed a day tube yesterday and put the blue light in the front instead.
Gave the whole front of the tank a purple hue (reddish nature tube + blue tube)
:look:
think I'll mess around with it again tonight.

I am playing around with the actinic light because i want to make the blues on my fronts stand out more.
Also I have read that combining blue light with more natural daylight (day-tube) gives the aquarium a bright bleu-whitish hue, comparable to high sun-levels in the equator region.
