Hi, the lighting unit stopped working on my tank, atm i've ripped the electrics out of the hood and bodged a different lighting system into it but its only running one tube.
So i need to replace the hood, anyway on to the question..
Is the Arcadia I bar any better than getting another Juwel hood?

I would not have thought there would be much difference I would just go with the cheapest, only reason I would go with the Juwel would be if the I-Bar did not support the flaps on top of the tank.

Rob, if you dont mind a bit of diy theres a pinned topic here where someone made their own hood for a juwel rekford i think it was.

But you might get a cheap starter unit on ebay. Are you completely doing away with the juwel light unit?

Thank's for the replies, yeah i'm replacing the whole unit because the electrics for the lights stopped working. The DIY hood looks great but i'm way too much of a lazy arse to build something like that  .
Glad you mentioned about the flaps, i just checked and they do fit the Arcadia unit (There's some on Ebay going cheap)

Not very practical as you are in Sheffield and I am on the south coast but I have 3 x 25w tubes from my Juwel Vision 180 you could have, only used for 2 weeks...( I have a lot of bogwood in which is turning the water so brown that I have upgraded the lighting putting in 2 x 25w T6 tubes and there is a noticable improvement )

I have a Juwel Vision 180 and the whole light unit has gone on that, I didnt realise you could get cheaper replacements for the Juwel so I have ordered one from my LFS and its costing me £55.00, other stores have said abover £70.00.

Bloody lights, grr! :S
