Lighting Fitting For A 10 Gallon Correct?

The 20"x10" is the perfect size for my 10 gallon. But, my tank is not a perfecto. Does it even matter?

Also, say:

20"x10"x3"

What does the bolded 3" mean.

As long as it's the right size (i.e., that a 20"X10" fits), you're good. There's no need to match brands. And I'm pretty sure the 3" means tallest height of the hood.

That would work too right? Also, correct me if I'm wrong, that is included with 2 25 watt bulbs which would be 5wpg. That is really great for plants if so.

Just saw that the 2-25W bulbs are incandescent bulbs though, so they would give off lots of heat. Better for a terrarium than an aquarium, I think. I personally have had only compact flourescents for my aquariums. The T8 18" bulb is 15W which would give your tank 1.5wpg; that's plently for me, but then again I have only a few plants and not a fully planted tank.

Sorry, not a lighting expert. You may be able to find a previous post about different lighting though.
