okay i dont know much about lighting so this should be a pretty easy question. for all flourescent light fixtures , t5, t8, t12, etc i was told that if you have four instance a 100 watt balast or single bulb fixture you can put any bulb UP TO 100 watts. is this true? or can you only put a 100 watt bulb in it? and isthis the same case for other lights like metal halides? basically my friend has like a 400 watt fixture for a metal halide. can he only put a 400 watt bulb in it? or can he get something smaller like a 150watt metal halide bulb? any explanations would be appreciated thanks
