Hi guys.
I will be shortly moving my 100gal into my house from the garage.
I did have a halide system with 3 150w bulbs on it from when it was a reef, but that got damaged during the move.

Anyway, I have been using a 24w and a 12w tube over the tank for light. Its not much of a problem as the tank is in the garage.
But I am hoping to buy a brand new attractive light for when i bring the tank inside.
I have seen a 90cm t5 unit which runs 2 54wat bulbs. Would this be sufficient enough to give a good amount of light to view the colours of my fish well?

If not, can you recommend anything?
thanks

josh

2 54 watt bulbs isn't really a lot for corals, especially if they don't have individual reflectors.. For fish/non-photosynthetic inverts, it's perfectly fine. :)

Yes its the fowlr.
Dimentions are
lenght - 150cm ( 60" )
width - 45cm ( 18" )
height - 60cm ( 24" )

i used some white sqaurish guttering witch disnt look tack like it sounds then fitted two t5 in it using bulb clips

and then hanged it from the ceiling using bike brake cables so thin metal wire it looked very proffessinal i may have some pics if you want to see

heres pics above the tank

So long as you have your own hood and can stagger the 48" bulbs, it should look great :)

My dad will be building a stand for the tank again like he did at our old house.
But this one wont be built into the wall, will just be like a normal tank stand.
Since he is a good craftsman, he will be able to fashion some sort of hood over wooden frame over the top to sit the lights on, hopefully with a bit of extra space to fit a reflector.
