Lighting 5 On 2 Off 5 On ?

HELLO ALL I HAVE VALLIS, MARMINO BALLS, CABOMBA, JAVA FERN AND SOME AMAZON SWORDS SMALL ONES. IV JUST BEEN READING ABOUT THE 5 ON 2 OFF 5 ON LIGHTING METHODS AT THE MOMENT I HAVE MY JEWEL TRIGON 190LTR TANK WITH DUAL HIGH LIGHT BULBS. VALLIS IS DOING WELL NEW RUNNERS APEARING AND THE AMAZON POPS A NEW LEAF EVERY DAY THE COBOMBA LOOKS HEALTHY BUT ITS NOT BUSTING THE TANK SO TO SPEEK AND THE REASON WHY I ADDED IT WAS TO OUT COMPEATE THE ALGAE WELL THE SMALL AMMONUNT I HAVE SLIGHT BROWNING ON SOME OF THE LEAVES I JUST THOUGHT SHOULD I INCREASE LIGHTING OR IS 8 HOURS ENOUGH FOR THE PLANTS I HAVE ?? I ALSO HAVE A CO2 REACTOR (SERA CO2 START I USE 1 TAB SAT WED SAT) ?? ANY INFO WOULD HELP MANY THANX

Careful with the all CAPS. In Forum speak, that's yelling. Just for next time.

Don't worry about 5 on, 2 off, 5 on. Like AdAndrews said, 8 hours or less is fine. Mine are on about 6-8 hours depending on the tank.

I used to have my lights on for 10-12 hours a day and the water always looked slightly cloudy to me. I now have 4 on, 2 off and 4 on, which hasn't really affected the plant growth, and the water is a fair bit clearer too.

I still keep the lights on for 10-12 hours on my small tank, as I'm trying to breed snails and I guess algae helps them.
