Okay, so I bought a mini bow 5 gal tank. I have two Balloon Mollies in it. The light bulb this tank came with... is extremely dim, and discolors my white molly, to gold, and turns everything yellow. I have a bulb thats similar to a florescent bulb, and I screwed it in, and its bright, and makes the aquarium light up perfectly, like at the pet stores, but it's pretty bright. Can the light be TOO bright?

well how strong is it? Its compact fluorescent right? So is it maybe 11-14 watts (i think like 900 lumens)

thats not much light at all, you should check out marine tanks lol

Woops, thought I'd let you know I typed that wrong.. it's really a 2.5 Gal tank =(

can you post some pics xD

i have a marineland 5 gallon bowfront aquarium thing and it seems so dim >.<
is it possible to use a household fluorescent bulb as a light as long as it fits in the protection thing?
