I have a fluval venezia 190 and just have a slight problem with the light unit if anyone can help, when i turn the lights on there perfectly fine nice and bright as they should be, but after 20-40 mins the rear tube goes dim and stays that way and will eventually go off but the front bulb stays fine, the only way it seems to go back to normal is to turn the lights off for 10 mins turn them back on and there fine again untill it does it again, now ive swapped the bulbs round and replaced them but it hasent made a difference, there t5 lights and does have the timer built in to the unit, im out of ideas on what to try next has anyone else had this problem? i were goin to try get in to the unit and maybe replace a starter or something any ideas or tips/info would be most welcome as it does spoil the look of the tank :(

thanks Liam

Sounds like either the wiring is faulty... maybe a loose connection, or your ballast is bad. A dual T5 unit will not have a starter, its just the ballast, wires, and bulbs.

Thanks for the reply it it isnt the worst thing in the world but does spoil the look just wierd how the front bulb is perfectly fine and the rear just stays dim, the down side is im told i cant get inside the unit as its sealed,
so i wouldnt be able to replace the balast,

i can get a replacement for £150 from flval/hagen but is there any other options maybe?
