I don't understand. My 10 gallon's water evaporates really quickly, so fast that all the water that needs to be removed for a water change is gone come time to change it. I am thinking this is because of the light. I leave the light on all day and I noticed these lights get very hot, making the water rise faster. Is there anything I can do to keep the water from evaporating so quickly?

Usually the tank has a glass ledge around the top. You can have glass sheets or plastic condensation tray that sits on that ledge.

If you have no glass ledge round the top your only option is the plastic condensation trays as they tend to clip on the sides of the tank. They are sold at all good fish shops.

What lights you using? I'm suprised the lights you could fit over a 10 gal would be getting that hot.

Maybe its just because my water likes to evaporate then. I dunno. Im going to my LFS today to return some fry so ill ask them there. Thanks
