Lifespan Of A Platy?

Recently a sunset platy i had had for around 10-11 months died, with no apparent disease/water quality-related concern. I was wondering if it could have died of old age. How long do Platies live for on average?

Should live longer than that, I think 2-3 years with good care, but maybe it was just his time!

any thing from 18months to 3 years is norm. you had it for a year, then you need to think how old it was when you got it sounds about right. If you done a water test and a 50% water change i would say just one of those things
