Hey guys, I'm trying to find out how long a bristlenose pleco lives for a friend of mine. I haven't been able to find this info anywhere... anyone able to help me?

thanks so much!
Valerie

Providing good food, good water, some nice wood they can live for years.
We have some at work that have been in a tank for 10 years +
i have had mine for 5.
Theres an idea for you.

My friend's bristlenose lived for 26 years and grew up to 8", a truly magnificent fish he was B)

I guess mine was about 13 or 14 years old when he died. He spent most of his life earning his keep cleaning up in a Mbuna tank.

Some plecs have been known to live up to 40 years. Royal and other panaque plecs generally grow massive and live for ages.

Bristlenoses should are supposed to be able to last up to around 25 years, and some of the comments in this thread are testimony to that :)
