Hi,

Whats the smallest Leporinus, the smallest i could find is 20cm. I would like to keep some in my 125gal with my eel once the eels moved. Any experience tha you could share would be grateful.

Thanks,

Francis.

Of the commonly available Leporinus species, L. nigrotaeniatus is probably the smallest at 180mm according to FishBase, but other resources shows it grows larger.

A casual search showed many smaller species though. The smallest I've seen to date is L. octomaculatus, L. megalepis and L. reticulatus at 70mm, L. sexstriatus at 80mm and L. aripuanaensis at 90mm, however, I doubt you'll find them anywhere.
