I don't really know if this is the right forum.... But I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on the Leopard Catfish. It's actual name is Corydora Julii. I was thinking of getting one to add to my tank. I have all livebearers. If anyone could show me some pictures and any information on them would be great. Thanks!

here\'s a pic of one of my C. trilineatus also known as leopard corys or false juliis (just found that out on here - i got them as leopards)

you would need more than one for them to be happy as they like to live in a group of at least 6

if you dont have much room in the tank go for habrosus or pymaeus

thats a great picture! Yeah I think I'm getting the C.julii My friend has one and it has been very happy in the tank. Do you have advice for me though?

Hi HCpetraitis :)

Almost all corys that are called C. julii are really C. trilineatus. They are an excellent fish and you will surely enjoy having it. However, corys are a schooling fish and should not be kept by themselves but in groups. Please buy at least 3 or more if space permits. They will be more active and happy than when kept alone.

Ok I thought of getting three or four but I'm thinking more towards 3.

The more the merrier! Especially when feeding time arrives, mine love to eat together!

If you have the room in your tank, a group of at least 6 to 8 is better than smaller groups. I find that a nice sized group has characteristics in their behaviour that I just don't see in small groups. As McGrimes said, the more the merrier.

Yeah I don't know about my more than 4 though because of space. What is recommended for a 10 gallon if they didn't need to have friends with them?

If they are the only fish in the tank, I would go to 6 trilineatus in a 10 gallon. More than that might be begging for trouble. If they are the only fish in the tank you could also move the temperature cooler than we usually keep a tropical tank. The cories would like that.
